Managing Risk on the final frontier (NASA)
Digital Diplomacy

Dr. Francesco is the Managing Director of the IKI at the George Washington University, Washington, DC, USA.  Dr. Calabrese is the President/Founder the Enterprise Excellence Management Group International, Incorporated (ExMG).
In 2000 the George Washington University’s first Doctoral dissertation sought to “validate” a conceptual KM Framework of “Four Pillars”  leadership —organization —technology—learning. During this first decade of the 21st Century that Framework has evolved; has stood the test of change; has become known Globally; and has been successfully applied in practice. That “journey” and examples of project successes will be presented.

In 2002 the Knowledge Management Institute (KMI) was established to promote Knowledge Management (KM) as a tool for Thailand to develop the country into the knowledge-based society. Since then KMI has developed many practical KM models and tools for various organizations in different sectors including healthcare, education, agriculture, and community development.
Gaining such experiences, the “Total” KM concept has been created to reflect the holistic view of managing the 3 C’s namely the management of Content, the management of Communities, and the management of Consciousness. Success cases will be presented to demonstrate the uniqueness of each case with its key success factors together with the lessons learned during these implementation processes.
